BMW Collision Repair in Los Angeles
Filing a claim? The shop is your call, not the insurer's. See how the claim process works.
- Limited lifetime warranty on paint and bodywork
What a modern BMW body is made of
Looking for a BMW body shop in Los Angeles? Start with what the panel is made of. That decides whether it gets repaired or replaced.
Aluminum and steel in one shell
- Modern BMW bodies mix aluminum with high-strength steel
- Aluminum does not take heat and reshaping the way steel does, and the joining methods differ
- Which material a panel is made of changes whether it is repaired or replaced
- We do aluminum body work
Why that lands on the estimate
- The estimate names the panel, the material, and the method the repair uses
- Structural work behind a panel is a different job from cosmetic work on it
- Hidden damage found in teardown is documented and added before the repair continues
Sensors and driver assists after a hit
Cameras, radar and parking sensors sit behind a BMW bumper cover. Replacing the cover means aiming them again.
Where the sensors sit
- Parking sensors, radar and cameras sit behind bumper covers and in the windshield
- Manufacturer repair procedures call for recalibration once those parts are removed or replaced
- A camera sitting slightly off is reading the wrong part of the road
What happens about it here
- We recalibrate driver-assist sensors after the bodywork
- The estimate says which sensors the repair touches
- Panel fit, paint match, lights and glass are checked before you take the car back

What BMW owners ask after a collision
Do BMW sensors need recalibration after bumper repair?
Often, yes. Parking sensors, radar and cameras sit behind bumper covers and in the windshield, and manufacturer repair procedures call for recalibration once those parts are removed or replaced. We recalibrate driver-assist sensors after the bodywork, and the estimate says which ones the repair touches.
Is an aluminum BMW panel repaired the same way as steel?
No. Aluminum does not take heat and reshaping the way steel does, and the joining methods differ. Where the damage sits matters as much as which metal it is in. A crease across a body line or near an edge is a different call from the same crease in the flat of a panel, and the paint on top tells you nothing about either. That call gets made with the car in front of us, and we do aluminum body work.
Can I get genuine BMW parts on an insurance claim?
We can order genuine BMW parts. On a claim your policy governs what is covered, you can request genuine parts, and we go through the options with you at the estimate.
My BMW is not drivable after the accident. What should I do?
Do not drive it. Call us at (310) 880-7575 and we can help arrange professional towing to the shop. If a light is out, something leaks or drags, or the steering feels different, treat it as not drivable. A short drive on bent suspension turns a repair into a bigger one.
How long does a BMW collision repair take?
It depends on the parts and on what teardown reveals. We go over the expected scope with you at the estimate, and we call you when something changes.
