Electric vehicle repair questions
Which electric brands can you repair?
Any of them. Body, structure, paint and sensor work is the same job whatever badge is on the hood, so an EV goes through the shop the way any other car does. If it plugs in and it has collision damage, bring it in for a free written estimate.
Can you get parts for a less common electric car?
Yes. We can order genuine parts for any make, newer electric brands included. On an insurance claim the policy sets what is covered, you can ask for genuine parts, and we walk through the options with you at the estimate. Parts availability affects how long a repair takes, so we talk about it at the estimate rather than after.
Do the driver-assist cameras need recalibrating after the repair?
Often, yes. Cameras and radar sensors ride in bumper covers, mirrors and the glass area, and manufacturer repair procedures call for recalibration once those parts are replaced or disturbed. We recalibrate driver-assist systems after the repair, and that step works the same whether the car is electric or not.
Does an insurance claim work differently for an electric car?
No. Same claim, same steps: you report it, you pick the shop, we document the damage and file supplements if teardown shows more than the first estimate did. California puts the choice of repair shop with you, and being electric does not change that. See how a claim runs here.
My EV is not drivable after a crash. What now?
Do not drive it. Call (310) 880-7575 and we can help arrange professional towing to the shop. Tell us where the car is sitting and whether it still rolls, because that changes how it gets loaded. If a wheel sits wrong, something is dragging, or a warning stays up on the screen, treat the car as not drivable.
Is there a warranty after an EV repair?
Yes. The repair is backed by a limited lifetime warranty on paint and bodywork: workmanship on the bodywork, and paint against peeling, bubbling, and cracking, for as long as you own the vehicle. The warranty is non-transferable. It does not cover parts under a manufacturer's warranty, rust from unrepaired damage, damage from later accidents, or normal wear.
