Right after the accident:
three checks before anything else

1 · Is the car safe to drive?

If it pulls, drags, leaks, or a light is out, do not drive it. Call (310) 880-7575 and we can help arrange professional towing to the shop.

If you are not sure, treat it as not drivable. A short drive on bent suspension turns a repair into a bigger one.

2 · Photograph everything

Whole-car shots plus close-ups of each damaged area, before anything is moved or taped up. The photos start your estimate and help your claim. The final repair scope is set after an in-person look.

3 · Start the claim when ready

Report the accident to the insurer, yours or the at-fault driver’s. When they ask which body shop the car goes to, California law makes the choice yours, not the insurer’s. Name us as your accident repair shop and we take it from there.

How the claim process works, step by step →

What we take off your plate

  • Towing help for a non-drivable car: call and we can help arrange it
  • Damage documentation your adjuster can work with
  • Supplements when teardown reveals more than photos showed
  • Updates from us, so you are not chasing anyone

What each kind of hit damages

Impact energy travels past the dent you can see. Here is what we check behind each kind of hit.

Rear-end collision repair

  • Bumper cover and reinforcement bar, trunk or liftgate fit
  • Hidden: crushed energy absorbers, bent rear body panel, parking sensors and wiring
  • Frame check when the trunk floor or rails moved

Front-end collision repair

  • Bumper, hood, grille, lights and fenders
  • Hidden: radiator support, condenser, crash sensors, headlight mounts
  • Suspension and alignment when a wheel took the hit

Side-impact repair

  • Doors, quarter panels, mirrors, moldings
  • Hidden: door intrusion beams, B-pillar, window regulators and airbag sensors
  • Door gaps and glass operation checked after repair

Parked-car and sideswipe repair

  • Scrapes and transfer over multiple panels
  • Hidden: clips, brackets and paint damage that spreads under trim

A hit-and-run can still be a claim under your own policy, and we document the damage the same either way.

From crash to keys back

Towed in or driven in, the repair follows the same five steps. You approve the plan before work starts.

  1. Car arrives

Drive in, or call (310) 880-7575 and we can help arrange towing. Photos can start the estimate before the car gets here.

  2. Damage review & estimate

In-person inspection, photos and measurements, then a free written estimate, explained to you.

  3. Claim coordination

On insurance claims we send the adjuster our documentation and file supplements if teardown reveals more.

  4. Authorization & repair

You approve the repair plan first. Then body, structure and paint work.

  5. Quality check & pickup

Panel fit, paint match, lights and sensors checked before you take the car back. The work is backed by our limited lifetime warranty on paint and bodywork.

From a customer after an accident

"Someone backed into me and scratched up my bumper, and they repaired it like it never happened. The paint match is absolutely perfect you honestly can't even tell it was ever damaged."

FAQs

Questions we hear after an accident

Should I call my insurance company or a body shop first?

Either order works. Many people get the free estimate first so they walk into the claim call knowing what the damage looks like; others open the claim the same day as the accident. Once a claim exists, we handle the damage documentation and adjuster communication, and California law makes the choice of repair shop yours, not the insurer's.

The other driver was at fault. Whose insurance pays?

That depends on how the claim is set up: the at-fault driver's liability coverage, your own collision coverage, or a mix. Who pays is decided by the insurers and policies involved, not by the shop. Either way, you choose where the car is repaired, and we document the damage the same for any payer.

Is my car safe to drive after a rear-end collision?

If it pulls to one side, a light is out, something drags or leaks, or the steering feels different, do not drive it. Call us instead. A car can also look fine and hide bent structure behind the bumper cover, which is exactly what the in-person inspection is for. When in doubt, treat it as not drivable.

Can you tell me what the repair will cost from my accident photos?

Photos are a start, not an answer. Accident damage regularly continues behind the panels: crushed brackets, bent rails, damaged sensors. A number quoted from photos alone is a guess. We give you a written estimate after inspection, and the scope is updated through documented supplements if teardown reveals more.

Can I get a rental car while mine is being repaired?

Whether a rental is paid for depends on your policy (rental reimbursement coverage) or the at-fault driver's insurer. If you have that coverage, we can help coordinate a rental or loaner through our local partners so you are not stranded while the car is in the shop.

What if the insurer says the car is a total loss?

That call belongs to the insurer, which compares the repair cost with the car's value. Our part is the documentation: we record everything the damage needs, and we walk you through what the numbers mean before anything is signed.

Is the repair covered by a warranty?

Yes. The work is covered by our limited lifetime warranty on paint and bodywork: workmanship on the bodywork, and paint against peeling, bubbling, and cracking, for as long as you own the vehicle. The warranty is non-transferable. It does not cover parts under a manufacturer's warranty, rust from unrepaired damage, damage from later accidents, or normal wear.
