Nissan Collision Repair Questions

Does Nissan require diagnostic scanning after a collision?

Yes. Nissan's November 2025 position statement requires pre-repair and post-repair diagnostic scans for all 2008 and newer Nissan vehicles. It specifies Nissan CONSULT software and approved procedures for required calibrations. We include the applicable diagnostic work in the repair and arrange qualified services when specialized equipment is needed.

Does my Nissan need a steering angle sensor reset after collision repairs?

It may. Nissan requires a steering angle sensor reset after alignment work on vehicles equipped with Vehicle Dynamic Control. A reset may also be necessary when we repair or replace damaged steering or suspension components. We include the required procedure in the collision repair, even if no dashboard warning appears.

Can you repair frame damage on a Nissan Frontier or Armada?

We handle structural repairs supported by Nissan's instructions and our equipment. These vehicles use body-on-frame construction, so frame-rail, crossmember, or suspension-attachment damage requires specific measurements. We determine which corrections and component replacements are permitted before completing the structural work.

Why does my Nissan show ABS or traction-control warnings after an accident?

Wheel impacts can damage speed sensors, wiring, or related components used by the anti-lock braking and vehicle stability systems. A warning doesn't indicate which part failed. We account for the necessary diagnostic checks and repairs to affected components when completing the collision job.

Can an accident damage the suspension on a Nissan Z?

Yes. A curb strike or side impact can bend suspension arms, steering links, wheel assemblies, or mounting points. The Z's performance-oriented chassis also has model-specific alignment requirements. We address eligible body damage and coordinate the mechanical repairs and alignment work needed for the affected components.

Could a collision damage my Nissan's transmission or drivetrain?

An impact reaching the underbody or wheels can damage axle shafts, engine or transmission mounts, and nearby components. That does not necessarily mean the transmission itself has failed. We perform appropriate mechanical inspections and repairs before recommending replacement of major drivetrain assemblies.

Does a collision affect Nissan ProPILOT Assist or other safety features?

It can if the impact damages the forward camera, radar, wiring, or mounting points. Nissan requires approved diagnostic and calibration procedures after certain repairs, including ADAS component removal or replacement. We restore affected body structures and account for the qualified system work necessary before completion.

What if my Nissan's airbags deployed or the seat belts locked during the accident?

The restraint system requires the component inspections and replacements specified by Nissan. Depending on the impact, these may involve airbags, belts, pretensioners, sensors, and control modules. We repair eligible structural and exterior damage and include the required qualified restraint-system services before vehicle delivery.
